A Moment in Paris

Most of the time my travels revolve around my full-time job as a Medical Event planner.  I typically travel once a month overseeing conferences that I have planned.  My most recent excursion was to Paris, France, for a dermatology conference.   I wish I could say that I spent time visiting the Eiffel Tower, touring the Louvre Museum, and shopping on Champs Elysee, nonetheless, I couldn't explore much of the city of lights!

This short stay did allow me to experience Paris by eating WAYYY too much cheese, quiche, and bread, which I do not regret one second!

Best BaguetteMaison Kayser – This Boulangerie is known for all the crusty fresh bread, but I also loved the Canelé.  If you cannot make it to Paris, the good news is that there are also several locations in New York.

L’Occitane and Pierre Hermé’s Boutique – Located along the Champs-Elysées, this concept store has a bar showcasing the popular signature pastry, the French Macaron.  The concept shop had every flavor imaginable.  I had just eaten a baguette with butter so I was too full to order any French Macarons, but there was such a colorful rainbow of deserts!

Often times in many European cities, wear comfortable shoes and walk around the entire city.  Going up and down small streets discovering little shops and restaurants off the beaten path is what intrigues and excites me while traveling.  One restaurant that I stumbled upon had appealing, fun décor along with a relaxed atmosphere and a delicious menu.  Le Grand Cerf Paris is situated on a corner in the historic part of Paris, the restaurant has a local vibe and impeccable vintage décor.

I have to admit that I possibly tasted the best bowl of French onion soup, ever, and with the weather being chilly in the evening, it was perfect.  The décor was cozy with lots of wood accents, exposed brick and a “Grand cerf (deer) mounted on the wall.  The café appears not to have a website, however, there is a  Facebook page and an Instagram account @legrandcerf

Thanks for following along!
